For a landless widow like Ruke, these ‘uncultivated foods’ are a real godsend – they cost her nothing and yet she knows she is providing the right nutrition not just to her daughter but to other members of her family as well. Both Ruke and Tule are well aware of the nutrients they derive from the forest produce they now consume regularly. श्रीनु…… जीवन में बहुत सी ऐसी घटना होती है जो हमेशा के लिए यादगार होती हैं, जीवन में कुछ लोग ऐसे भी होते हैं जो हमारे अपने रिश्तेदार, दोस्त न होकर भी हमें वो याद रहते हैं। आप उन्हें जब भी याद करते हैं तो चेहरे पर एक मुश्कान आ जाती है । ऐसे ही एक व्यक्ति हैं श्रीनु। मैं उसके परिवार के बारे में कुछ नहीं जानती । मुझे बस इतना पता है कि वह एक तेलुगु लड़का है, में ये भी नहीं जानती की अब वो कहाँ है क्या कर रहा है। अब आपके मन में ये सवाल उठना स्वभाबिक है की अगर में उसे जानती नहीं तो उसके बारे में क्यों लिख रही हूँ। मैं 2004 में श्रीनु से मिली थी । मुझे अच्छी तरह से याद है कि बारिश का दिन था। मैं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय गैर सरकारी संगठन (आई एन जी ओ ) के कुछ असाइनमेंट में थी , जिसमें मुझे कोरापुट के आदिवासी इलाकों में जाकर , ग्राउंड जीरो में उनके द्वारा शुरू की गई ग्राम नियोजन परियोजना के बारे में लिखना था । मैं भुवनेश्वर से हीराखंड एक्सप्रेस में कोरापुट के लिए तीन दिन की यात्रा पर निकली । ट्रेन रायगड़ा में तो सुबह होने से पहले ४ बजे पहुँच जाती है पर कोरापुट पहुँचते पहुँचते कभी
